| How long have you been in YPC? Why did you join? |
3 years - I joined after graduating from Drake University, because I wanted to become more connected with people in the community and get more involved in Des Moines. In those three years, I've met some really incredible people, been able to help with some really fantastic projects and made some really great friends. |
| What’s your favorite way to “Do More” in Des Moines? |
I love learning, and I'm lucky because SCI and YPC give me a lot of opportunities to do that. I also like to learn about the other organizations in town and all of the unique things they're doing to give back and build up Des Moines. I especially have a passion for arts and culture groups and international organizations. |
| Goals for your position in 2013 |
I have many goals for 2014, my year as YPC president, and I get to use this year to prepare. I have ideas of ways YPC can improve, but I want to use this year to talk to as many people as possible and find out what they want from YPC - what they like, what they don't like, how we can improve. I get to do my research this year so we can be strategic and reposition ourselves the RIGHT way moving forward. If you have ideas, I'd love to talk to you! |

The last two years I've spent many Saturdays waking up at 5 am to volunteer at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers' Market. 4.5 years in YPC; I joined to get to know people in Des Moines and I applied for the board to give back to an organization that introduced me to Des Moines and many friends. |
| What’s your favorite way to “Do More” in Des Moines? |

Build attendance at the Civic Cafe luncheons and promote civic activities and civility during a time when elections and campaign ads are at a minimum. |

3 years. I joined to meet people, network, and get involved in the constant revitalization of the Downtown Core. |
| What’s your favorite way to “Do More” in Des Moines? |
I love to go to all of our great restaurants, I volunteer when I have time, usually with charities that benefit kids, and I enjoy being on the various boards and committees I take part in. It's very easy for YPs to get involved in Des Moines if they know where to look. |
| Goals for your position in 2013 |
I'd like to continue to expand our partnerships with other great organizations that are around Des Moines and expose our membership to groups they don't typically interact with. We're working on a number of events with the Downtown Chamber, we're mapping out a long term partnership with the Des Moines Social Club on a great multi-year, downtown project, and we're working on some other partnerships that we'll announce as they're finalized. |

3 years. I got involved because I wanted to meet more YP's and make Des Moines a better place. |
| What’s your favorite way to “Do More” in Des Moines? |
My favorite way to "Do More" in Des Moines is to spend time with friends in the downtown area. Whether it is volunteering on a Saturday, dining out at a local restaurant, rocking out to a concert or shopping in the East Village, the downtown area is my place to be! |
| Goals for your position in 2013 |
Continue to offer more sessions on bringing your personal brand into the work place. As more YP's influence the workplace dynamic and with increased practice of "flex time" in the workplace, the ability to balance your "personal and professional brand" in and outside of the workplace is essential to professional development. This is a major priority of the Professional Development Committee. |

| How long have you been in YPC? Why did you join? |
I've been in YPC for over two years and joined because I was looking for the opportunity to network and meet individuals who I could relate to. At the time, my friends were beginning to settle down and start their own families. I wasn't at a similar point in my life and YPC helped to connect me with individuals who were. |
| What’s your favorite way to “Do More” in Des Moines? |
I love the fact that local businesses understand how important YPC is to the community and the power our demographic has. When talking with businesses, I want them to succeed and meet their own goal. So today, I actively talk and promote the local businesses to everyone I know. I'm also looking forward to working with other YP groups like HYP (Habitat for Humanity) or Young Variety. |
| Goals for your position in 2013 |
This year, we plan to attend at least three new locations thru our Monthly Happy Hour - with the goal to keep attendance over 100 people at each event. Another goal is to assist the Ambassador program to ensure it becomes a regular part of our organization. Finally, social committee members will continue to take a greater ownership in the committee. With guidance, members will be able to create and run their own events which meet the goals of YPC. |
