 2013 Golden circle games

Location Description:

This year's Golden Circle Games will be held at Water Works Park in the South Shelter Area with parking available in the Big Event Field. Enter the grounds at the south Shelter Entrance from George Flagg Parkway; access will not be available from the Fleur Drive entrance. Gates open at noon.

Event Description:

New location. New time. New games. In its 29th year the Golden Circle Games has a new challenge. Now is the time to assemble the ultimate team. Your Dream Team. Form a team with coworkers and earn company bragging rights or round up your friends let Central Iowa know what a real team can do. Put your skills to the test June 14th at Water Works Park. The games begin at 1:30 so plan ahead. As always, we will be collecting items for a worthwhile Central Iowa charity. The Golden Circle Games, forming connections and bringing companies together since 1984.

 2013 VOLUNTEER ROLES & SHIFTS

 

Parking (12:00pm – 2:00pm) (3 Volunteers)

Individuals are responsible for directing incoming traffic to appropriate parking spot.  One person at the parking entrance, one directing to the appropriate row and one person to direct the vehicle to the specific parking spot.

Front Gate - Bag & Bottle check (12:30pm – 3:00pm) (3 volunteers)

Individuals are responsible for checking all participants’ bags, pockets, etc. after they check in before they enter the Waterworks and as they are leaving the Waterworks. Participants aren’t allowed to bring in or leave with any open bottles of juice, water, pop, etc. – or any alcoholic beverages.  

Registration/Check-In (1:00pm – 3:00pm ) (7 volunteers)
Individuals are responsible for assisting with the registration process – checking teams in, collecting release forms, ensuring that all participants have signed release forms, general FAQ, and walk-ups/payment. 

**2 PEOPLE: TEAM CHECK-IN

**1 PERSON: VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN (checking that all volunteers have showed up/game chairs have all of their volunteers as well).

**1 PERSON: TAKING COMPLETED RELEASE/WAIVER FORMS

**1 PERSON: TAKING CARE OF INDIVDIUALS WHO DON’T HAVE A COMPLETED RELEASE/WAIVER FORM

**1 PERSON: GENERAL FAQ

**1 PERSON: Handling moolah!

Soda/Water  – (1:00pm – 3:00pm / 3:00pm – 6:00pm) (3 volunteers per shift)

Individuals are responsible for helping serve soda, and monitoring the water stations throughout the Waterworks.

**2 PEOPLE: SERVING SODA AT THE WATER WORKS PARK’S SODA STATION.

**1 PERSON: OVERSEEING THE WATER STATIONS TO MAKE SURE THAT CUPS AREN’T BEING THROWN ON THE GROUND, REPLACING THE JUGS IF NEED BE AND THE STATION AREAS ARE KEPT CLEAN. 

Donations  – (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm / 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm ) (2 Volunteers per shift)

Individuals are responsible for collecting donations and sorting them/keeping them organized based upon specific organizational needs.

Security  – (3:00 pm – 6:00 pm / 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm ) (3/2 volunteers per shift)

Making sure things run smoothly, individuals aren’t bringing outside beverages in, cleaning up, etc.

Tie-Breaker  – (3:00pm – 6:00pm) (2 Volunteers – Committee Members?)

Clean-up   – (8:30 pm – 9:30 pm) (6 volunteers)

Individuals are responsible for helping with clean-up of the Waterworks.
