| Activities / Involvement in the Community: | I have been as active as possible with the Charitable Committee in planning for and volunteering in events this year. This is my first year with YPC, and I am thrilled to find others who are interested in investing themselves into helping others. A good bit of time is taken with being the Treasurer at my church. I do all the accounting work for them as a ministry, and love using my learned skills to benefit others. |
| Favorite Things to Do in Des Moines: |
My wife and I really enjoy eating out at local restaurants. The past 4 years have brought a good number of creative menus and interesting venues to Des Moines. B.K. (Before Kids) we attended a lot of shows and the Des Moines Metro Opera. We attempt to get out and do some of that now, but not to the same level. I do a lot of running and biking and participate in fund-raising events every weekend. |
| Something People Don't Know About Me: |
I spent 10 weeks in and was arrested and taken into custody while in Africa on a Missions trip in Cote d' Ivoire and Liberia. I was arrested in Liberia for "using a camera without a permit." It turned out to be a government official stretching the rules to collect a fine ($50 American was a large amount there)! |
